Call of Duty Full Review: Story, Game play, Graphics & More
At first sight, when I received the installation file for Call of Duty, I thought it is just another game from the line of other FPS games. However, after several hundred hours of playing both Story and multiplayer modes, I got to know why millions of gamer around the world think that Call of Duty is still one of the best first person shooters ever made.
The thing that astonished me most of all was not the mechanics, but the atmosphere of the game. Each mission in Call of Duty makes you feel as if it is an episode of some Hollywood action movie, with explosions, gunfighting, soundtrack and realistic interaction with characters. If you never played this game, get ready to have plenty of adrenaline!

What is Call of Duty?
Call of Duty is considered one of the best first-person shooter (FPS) games ever. Gradually, this franchise came up with games that had World War II stories, modern wars, science-fiction environments, and battle royale mode too.
On PC, playing the Call of Duty game will give you perfect control, good graphics, and high frame rates. Using either keyboard and mouse or a controller while playing is very easy with this game.
Story Review
One of the things that I liked about this Call of Duty game the most was its Story mode.
Not just endless shooting but participation in real military missions where all your decisions matter.
Different soldiers who perform missions in different places around the world.
The story is not repetitive but cinematic.
There were missions which required some stealth.
There were missions with huge battles and lots of helicopters, tanks, drones, and special forces.
Several times during these missions, I got afraid of what would happen next since enemies can attack from everywhere.
The character design and voice acting were great and made every mission exciting.
Although the game is not very long, it was very enjoyable.
Gameplay Experience
This is where Call of Duty really shines.
The controls are super-responsive.
Running, sliding, aiming, jumping, and shooting are all smooth and do not complicate gameplay.
There is a unique feel to each weapon.
Assault rifles are perfectly balanced.
Sniper rifles require patience to handle effectively.
Shotguns reign supreme in close-quarters combat.
SMGs fit fast-paced gameplay style.
I spent countless hours trying out different weapons and ended up finding my favorites.
The recoil system feels realistic enough that skill pays off without being frustrating.
Multiplayer Mode
After completing the campaign mode, I jumped into multiplayer.
This is where Call of Duty gets addictive.
Games move quickly.
Respawn happens in no time.
Games are never the same because players always adapt new strategies.

Matchmaking is pretty good but beginners will be overwhelmed by skilled players during their first matches.
What I suggest?
Do not put too much emphasis on kill/death ratio in the beginning.

Graphics quality
One of the most convincing reasons for playing Call of Duty on a PC is the graphics.
Enabling higher graphics settings will result in high-quality visuals.
Lighting is realistic.
The models of weapons are high-end.
Animations of characters are realistic.
Smoke, explosions, shadows, and environmental graphics make the game more engaging.
Older Call of Duty games have surprisingly decent visuals on a modern PC.
On a high-performance gaming PC, some missions are cinematic.
Sound design
People often tend to underestimate the role of sounds in an FPS game.
The Call of Duty developers did an amazing job at it.
Shooting sounds realistic.
Sounds of footsteps allow for locating enemies.
Explosions sound loud and impactful.
Background music depends on what happens on the map.
A high-quality gaming headset is recommended.
PC Performance
While performance is hardware-based, this title has some solid optimization.
In my tests, I experienced smooth gameplay by tweaking just a couple of graphics settings.
Here are a few tips for achieving the best combination of visual quality and FPS:
Use Fullscreen Mode
Reduce Shadow Quality if FPS drops
Maintain High Texture Quality if there is enough VRAM
Enable DLSS/FSR if available
Update graphics drivers frequently
The small tweaks made the gameplay much more pleasant.
PC Controls
Controls via keyboard and mouse are great.
As compared to console targeting, precision from the mouse allows a significant edge in long-range engagements.
The default controls are very comfortable, and basically all buttons are remappable.
Those players who want to use a controller will not find any problems using Xbox or PlayStation controllers.

Another thing I liked about this game is weapon customization.
Not being able to use only default guns, you get access to attachments such as:

Using various combinations of these attachments, you can customize your weapons to suit a certain style of gameplay.
Certain builds emphasize fast movement.
Others make the player more accurate.
Exploring various combinations was one of my favorite aspects of multiplayer.

One of the trademarks of Call of Duty is its famous maps.
They may be small and hectic.
Others may be so big that only snipers will find them useful.
Well-designed maps make each match exciting by giving players something new to explore all the time.
After playing for several hours, you find yourself using shortcuts without even thinking.
Difficulty Levels
There are different levels of difficulty available in this campaign.
It is ideal for beginners to play the game in simpler difficulties.
For those who have experience, there is the option of choosing the Veteran level of difficulty which will be challenging.
Believe me; I was mistaken while playing on a difficult level once.
This led me to loop back to the same check point more often than what was expected.
Regular difficulty level should be preferred by those who are new to the series.

Many novice players tend to reload their guns after each kill.
It is better to wait until it is safe.
3. Customize Your Mouse Sensitivity
A good sensitivity setting helps improve aiming greatly.
4. Use Headphones
Footsteps can help a lot when heard through headphones.
5. Try Different Guns
Don’t stick to one single weapon always.
Maps require different sets of loadout.
6. Practice Before Going into Competitive Playlists
It is always better to get some practice before going into ranked games.

If you do not like fast-paced games and prefer something slower and more relaxed, then it would be difficult to play Call of Duty.
Is Call of Duty PC Worth Playing?
Yes, absolutely. Being a fan of this game for quite some time, I came to this decision.
The campaign has great cinematics to offer, but the multiplayer experience is extremely interesting due to the infinite replay potential. The game features perfect controls, great graphics, and lots of weapons and maps. Although the game is large and competitive in online play, it is one of the best fps games available for PC.
If you are interested in action games that will improve your decision-making skills, teamwork, and skills overall, then this is the game to go for.
